Consilient Partners with SingTel to Launch World's First Free Mobile Email ServiceDemand for New Mobile Advertising Server Software Propels Momentum; Consilient Signs New Customers Across the Asia Pacific RegionST. JOHN’S, CANADA and SINGAPORE – 19, 2007 – At CommunicAsia 2007, Consilient announced partnerships with Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel), Asia’s leading multi-market mobile operator, and global media company MindShare to launch the world’s first advertising-driven, free mobile email service. SingTel’s MobileM@il is being offered as a completely free service for its 1.7 million subscribers. In return for viewing sponsored messages, users of the service have free use of the application including no data charges when sending and receiving e-mail. Text and graphical advertisements delivered via MobileM@il are interactive with such features as ‘click to browse’, ‘click to call’ and ‘click to download’. Using this service, consumer brands can now more effectively control their mobile phone campaigns through in-depth campaign management features such as profiling, extended click through actions, and real-time response. “In working with SingTel, we have harnessed the advertising capability of our push e-mail software and, in doing so, have provided advertisers with unprecedented access to the consumer market,” said Trevor Adey, CEO of Consilient. “This is an evolutionary advertising platform that very effectively caters to the changing lifestyle of the growing number of mobile users in Asia, which is home to nearly half of the world's 2.7 billion users.” The launch of SingTel MobileM@il marks the first time that consumers will have access to completely free email on their mobile phone in exchange for viewing advertisements. Consilient’s mobile software has the capability to serve advertisements of interest along with email messages. The ads appear either as text links in the bottom of emails or as graphical ads which appear between email messages and then disappear. New customers in the region In May this year, Consilient made its foray into the Indian market by offering a free push email application. The service gives users access to up to five email accounts – such as Hotmail®, Yahoo!®, AOL® email, Gmail™ and corporate email – from a single application on their mobile phone. Consilient also recently inked deals with three of the largest mobile phone operators in southeast Asia, each of which will be deploying Consilient Push in the coming months:
“Since establishing our first Asian office in Singapore and launching SingTel's mobile mass email offering last year, our growth across Asia’s mobile operator market has been exponential. Demand for Consilient Push™ and our newest mobile advertising software application have exceeded our initial projections,” Adey continued. Consilient’s underlying technology is push-based and is designed to be easy-to-use on popular mobile phones including Nokia, Samsung, Sony-Ericsson and Windows Mobile devices. The popular service features multi-account access, giving users a single application for accessing up to five different mail accounts on mobile phones. Consilient Push delivers mobile email for Hotmail, Yahoo!, Gmail, AOL and any POP3 or IMAP4 account, providing a single mobile application for corporate and personal mobile email use. Consilient Push can be quickly downloaded onto a consumer’s mobile phone in seconds. About Consilient® Consilient is a leading developer of push email, multimedia and advertising for mobile phones.
